Overview
This one-week Greek Islands tour by e-bike & boat takes us to one of the most scenic regions in Greece. During our picture-book vacation, we will visit the islands of Sporades, now world-famous thanks to Hollywood, along with the island of Euboea and the Pelion peninsula. On the way, we'll visit the islands of Skopelos and Skiathos, the most important filming locations from Mamma Mia.
The Aegean Islands of Alonissos, Skopelos, Skiathos and Palaio Trikeri, each has its very own character, which is why the entire archipelago impresses with its great diversity. The same applies to Euboea and the simply breathtaking Pelion peninsula.

Full Itinerary
Arrival in Skiathos
Please make your own way to the harbour of Skiathos Town (approx 3 km from Skiathos airport) You can check-in to your motor yacht from 4 pm. Spend the afternoon strolling through the lively old town of Skiathos. Enjoy a chilled beverage on the wooded Bourtzi peninsula or take a refreshing dip in the sea. Dinner on board and overnight stay in Skiathos.

Island of Alonissos
This morning, your boat will take you on a long crossing to Alonissos. On the way we'll stop for a swim in a beautiful bay. Once we arrive in the port of Patitiri, you can familiarise yourself with your bike on a short tour of the island. You'll cycle along quiet roads up to the enchanting old island capital of Palaia Chora. There will be time to explore the winding alleyways on foot and soak up the Greek island atmosphere during a coffee break in the shady main square. Then make your way back to Patitiri, where you can round off an eventful first day with a delicious dinner in one of the tavernas located right on the beach.

Island of Alonissos to Island of Skopelos
Today you will explore almost the entire island of Alonissos by bike. This island has dedicated itself entirely to ecotourism and you will be inspired with its beauty, fantastic beaches and particularly friendly islanders. The tour takes you from Patitiri to the Chrysi Milia beach, with colours reminiscent of the Caribbean. Here you can swim or enjoy a coffee before continuing towards the fishing villages of Steni Vala and Kalamakia to Agios Dimitrios Beach. Along the way, there are wonderful views of the mini-islands off the coast. The route continues onto a high plateau followed by a long descent into the bay of Patitiri, where your boat awaits you for lunch. In the afternoon, you will cross over to the neighboring island of Skopelos. The boat trip takes you through the protected marine park, which is home to a colony of the rare Mediterranean monk seal as well as many other animal species. In the evening, you can explore Skopelos town on foot and dine in a restaurant of your choice.

Island of Skopelos
Skopelos island offers everything you need for a fabulous day of cycling - high mountains, incredible panoramas, evergreen forests, rugged coastlines and great beaches. On today’s tour, you will discover the full diversity of this exceptionally beautiful island. You start from Skopelos town and cycle along a panoramic road through dramatic mountain scenery to the harbour at Neo Klima. After a long, relaxing lunch aboard a boat, we'll ride to the lighthouse at Cape Gourouni. Along the way we'll stop at Perivoliou Beach where you can enjoy a swim in the crystal-clear sea and enjoy a coffee or snack at the charming beach shack. After our break, you can choose to cycle straight back to Neo Klima or make a detour to the 'Mama Mia' cliff where Sophie and Sky said "I do" in the movie's little chapel.

Island of Evia (Euboea)
In the morning we'll cross to Evia, the second largest island in Greece. Evia is much less well-known than its glamorous neighboring islands in the Aegean but offers the same beautiful scenery and cultural diversity. Your boat will take you along the island's northern coastline to the small port town of Orei, with a swim stop along the way (weather permitting). Today's cycling is a loop ride through fertile coastal plains and traditional mountain villages, offering a glimpse into everyday rural life in Greece.
You can spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing on the boat or on the nearby sandy beach before rounding off your day with dinner in one of the harbours tavernas.

Evia to Pelion Peninsula and Island of Palaio Trikeri
Today your boat will take you to the breathtaking landscape of the Pelion peninsula. Together with the islands of Skopelos and Skiathos, Pelion was one of the main filming locations for Mamma Mia. Today’s tour begins in the charming fishing port of Agia Kyriaki and takes you past the mountain village of Trikeri to the bay of Alogoporos. From here you can take a sea taxi to the car-free mini-island of Palao Trikeri. This enchanting island is only 4.5 km² and is best explored on foot. You can visit the Greek Orthodox monastery of the Virgin Mary or simply relax and swim at one of the island’s quiet beaches. Later, the sea taxi will take you back to Alogoporos. From there, you'll ride back along the coast to Agia Kyriaki where you'll spend the night.

Pelion Peninsula to Island of Skiathos
Your last ride of the trip begins with a 25 km cycle along the deeply indented coastline of Pelion Peninsula with endless sea views and charming coastal scenery. Take a coffee break in the harbour town of Milina before tackling the final climb of your journey followed by a descent through a beautiful forest to the port of Platanias. Your boat will be waiting for you there to take you to the neighboring island of Skiathos. In the afternoon the van will take you from Skiathos town to the monastery of Evangelistria and the picturesque Parissis winery. Here you can enjoy sweeping views of the island’s capital while sipping the best wines the Sporades have to offer. This evening we'll enjoy a delicious dinner on the boat and reflect on your unforgettable week full of adventures in one of Greece's most breathtaking regions.

A good level of fitness is required as although daily distances only range between 8 km and 40 km, the terrain is hilly to mountainous with some challenging climbs of up to 400m. Many people underestimate the amount of hill work required. Road conditions will incorporate winding descents, uneven asphalt, and occasionally gravel paths. The e-bike will help you with the climbs but you should have experience and be confident in handling an e-bike. You can also choose to skip a bike tour and relax on the boat instead.

Participants will be asked to complete a booking form after confirmation of their booking.
BOOKING CONDITIONS
If the minimum number of participants required for a trip is not met (18 participants for bike and boat trips, unless otherwise noted), we reserve the right to cancel it. The decision about the trip taking place or not will be made as early as possible; at least three weeks before beginning of the trip.
Upon submitting your booking request, we will provide specifics regarding minimum numbers. Following trip confirmation, you may proceed with flight bookings and other travel arrangements. A ‘Limited’ trip status signifies limited spaces available. For trip status inquiries, kindly email or call our office.
DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS
A deposit is required to secure your place on your selected tour departure. On receipt of your deposit, Global Cycling Adventures will email you a confirmation to verify your travel arrangements and advise final payment details. The final payment is normally required 60 days before departure date unless otherwise specified.
CANCELLATIONS & AMENDMENTS
All tour cancellations will require notification in writing to Global Cycling Adventures by the person participating on the tour. Please be advised that booking cancellations or amendments will incur relevant fees. Cancellation charges are tour-specific and timing-dependent. For a comprehensive outline of our terms and conditions, including the cancellation policy, please refer to the travel proposal provided by our team.
We recommend that you purchase cancellation insurance on payment of your tour deposit in case unforeseen circumstances force you to cancel your tour.

It was excellent! Our tour leader was helpful on every front, plus we had 5 others as part of the support team. They all worked really well together, were lovely and made things seamless for us. We ate really well, the lunches they prepared for us on the road were great, I might even say they were the best I had on a cycling tour. The restaurants they picked for the restaurant meals were good choices to give us some variety.
The routes were generally good, giving us a nice variety of landscapes and towns. To my surprise (I’m not much into hiking) I enjoyed the hikes and parks on the non-cycling days, particularly the latter 2. I wanted lemurs and I got many as well as cool other creatures in those parks as well as in our stay at Camp Catta (great location).
Our group got along really well & friendships were made. Anyway, it was a great trip, I am really happy with the experience. So a big thank you for everything!

I have done a few bike trips with GCA and Costa Rica/Panama lived up to the usual high standards. We had excellent care and service from the local guide (Mike) and his crew. The biking highlight for me was descending the Irazú volcano, a drop of some 2000 meters on excellent road. Some non riding highlights would be Ziplining through the tropical rainforest.

The Costa Rica/Panama cycle tour was a magnificent blend of biking and exploring these two countries hitting all the high points, from sandy beaches on the coast to active volcanoes in the interior as well as numerous other activities, including rafting, exploring wildlife in the immense jungles and of course the canal; couldn't think of a better way to do it, Global Cycling put together a truly memorable itinerary. Ajaccio to Calvi was one of the best road rides I've done anywhere, Excellent mountain roads, well graded climbs, coupled with great scenery, through a world heritage area & overlooking the Mediterranean.The Sardinian Island of San Pietro was nice riding and very interesting from a traditional cultural perspective.Robert, our guide was extremely helpful and looked after the riders very well. He was attentive but still allowed us to do our own thing. VERY safety conscious which is crucial.
